7th Annual Army Ten-Miler (Oct. 13, 1991)
This race was dedicated to the armed forces personnel who served and supported Operation Desert Shield-Desert Storm. The much anticipated rematch between local favorites, Darrell General and Jim Hage opened with both runners recording a 4:50 split at the first mile. After exchanging the lead several times it became a kick to the finish. General surged across the finish to reclaim the title and new race record with a 48:49 time. Shelley Burns of Falls Church, Va., edged out Kelly Watkins of Salt Lake City, Utah, by 18 seconds to claim the women's title. Roger Clark defended his masters title and Beverly Shooshan collected her third masters title. Fort Benning took the Commander's Cup and its bragging rights to the bank. |

8th Annual Army Ten-Miler (Oct. 11, 1992)
The eighth Army Ten-Miler is once again America's largest 10-miler. David Clark of New York, dominated the race over the last five miles and won with 50:49. Army Specialist Robert Lee of Fort Lee, Va., was third in 41:46. Laurel Park of Ann Arbor, Michigan lead start to finish to win the women's title with Shelley Burns the '91 champion placing second. Bill Lee and Linda Mills both from Maryland take the masters titles and Hedy Marque, age 75, finished in 1:22:32. The Commander's Cup went to Germany with the U.S. Army Europe team. |

9th Annual Army Ten-Miler (Oct. 17, 1993)
The start time temperature was 59 degrees and returning 1990 champion Jim Hage of Lanham, Md., was focused on his second title attempt. Hage went unchallenged for the last four miles to win his second title and Callie Calhoun of San Antonio, Texas easily claimed the women's title. Linda and Ric Banning of Alexandria, Va., captured the masters titles and become the only husband and wife to date to win titles in the same year. Fort Campbell brings home the bacon and the Commander's Cup. |

10th Annual Army Ten-Miler (Oct. 16, 1994)
The 10th anniversary race celebrated with picturesque skies and a cool 48 degrees. Pete Weilerman of Arlington, Va., who was training to qualify for U.S. Olympics in 5,000 meters, lead wire to wire and finished in record setting time. In the same fashion, Bonnie Bernard-Lopez of Bethesda, claimed the women's title and a new personal best time. Ric Banning defended his title but Rose Malloy became the new female masters champion. Gordon Sanders' second place finish was not good enough to help the Fort Campbell team retain the Commander's Cup. |

11th Annual Army Ten-Miler (Oct. 15, 1995)
The 1995 race was a battle between Navy's Ronnie Harris of Arlington, Va., and Army's Gordon Sanders, 1994 runner up. In the last mile Harris surged to win. Susan Malloy of Charlottesville, Va., thwarted a Bonnie Barnard-Lopez title defense and went on to win the women's title in record setting time. Her 1995 women's record still holds today. Fort Campbell wrestled back the Commander's Cup. |
