 Army Ten-Miler 25th Anniversary T-Shirt Design Contest Rules and Guidelines

Attention all artists and designers: The Army Ten-Miler (ATM) is pleased to announce the ATM t-shirt design contest. Here is your chance to have your design printed on the official ATM race t-shirt. Beginning on April 20 and running through
June 1 at 11:59pm, the ATM will be accepting your design submissions. The first place winner will receive $1,000 and the winning design will be printed on over 30,000 runner and volunteer t-shirts. The second place winner will earn $500, while the third place winner will receive $250. GOOD LUCK PARTICIPANTS!

Eligibility

Contest is open to all US residents age 18 and older. Employees of the Army Ten-Miler office and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.

Only two (2) entries per person will be accepted.

Dates

Contest will be open from April 20 to June 1 at 11:59pm EST. The online judging by the registered race runners will take place from June 10 to June 19 at 11:59pm EST.

Army Ten-Miler reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time.

Awards

The winning design will receive $1,000, second place will be awarded $500 and third place will get $250. The winning design will also be printed on the official runner and volunteer shirts. The winners will be announced on the Army Ten-Miler Web site, www.armytenmiler.com on June 24. All three winning designs will become sole property of the Army Ten-Miler. The ATM reserves the right to make minor changes to the winning design before printing or to request the artist to do so.

Judging

The top five (5) designs will be selected by the Army Ten-Miler Blue Ribbon Panel. Those five designs will be posted on the Army Ten-Miler web site for balloting by registered race runners only. Winners will be determined by the greatest number of online votes received. Any design associated with improper balloting will be disqualified. The winners will be announced on the Army Ten-Miler Web site on
June 24.

Entries not complying with the contest rules are subject to disqualification without prior warning.

Technical Design Specifications

  • All designs must be original work – no clip art or stock photos. No work copied from copyrighted or published materials.
  • All designs must be created and submitted in a vector based program, such as Illustrator, Corel, etc. Submit as a vector image in an eps file format compatible with Adobe Illustrator CS2 or lower (Windows Format). No other format will be accepted.
  • All designs must be editable and submitted via email to nancy.brandon@jfhqncr.northcom.mil  
    Design limited to 5 spot colors. Gradients are fine, as long as they don’t fade or mesh into another color.
  • Please DO NOT import raster images into your vector document.
  • Convert all fonts to curves.
  • Design colors must be compatible with a white t-shirt.
  • Design should be equal or less than 10" x 10".
  • Entry must include the artist’s name, address, phone number and email address.

  Army Military District of Washington (MDW) with proceeds benefiting Army Morale,
  Welfare and Recreation (MWR)
     o MWR is a comprehensive network of support and leisure services designed to 
        enhance the lives of soldiers and their families
• The mission of the Army Ten-Miler is for the Military District of Washington to safely
  conduct the Army’s annual 10-mile race to promote the Army, build esprit de corps,
  support fitness goals, and enhance community relations
• ATM is the only race to begin and end at the Pentagon with a course that goes
  through Washington, DC
     o The course passes landmarks such as the Capitol, Washington Monument,
         Lincoln Memorial and more (see ATM Web site for course map)
