When is the 2012 Army Ten-Miler and when does registration open?

The 2012 Army Ten-Miler is Oct 21. Priority registration for 7X ATM runners OR U.S. service members will
open May 1. General Registration will open May 15.

How much does it cost to register?

Entry fees are $55.

How much does it cost to create a team name?

Team creation fees are $35.

Is there a race capacity for the ATM?

Yes, the cap is 30,000.

Does the race sell-out?

Yes, the race sells out quickly - within days. If you miss out on registration the ATM has an online transfer program.

What is the online transfer program and when does it run?

Between Jun 1 and Aug 31, you may buy or sell a registration. The seller is responsible for finding a buyer. The seller will initiate the transfer by going to transfer tab under registration and filling out the form. The buyer will receive an email and will have 72 hours to approve the purchase. The buyer will be charged $25.

How can I confirm my registration?

Go to the Registration Confirmation page to double check.

Can I defer my registration until next year?

No, the ATM doesn not have a deferral program.

 

Health & Fitness Expo FAQs

 

When is the Health & Fitness Expo?

The Health & Fitness Expo and packet pick-up will be Oct 19 - 20 from 10:00am - 7:00pm. You must pick-up your packet during this time. THERE IS NO RACE DAY PICK-UP.

Where is the Expo located?

The Expo is located at the DC Armory at 2001 E. Capitol Street, Southeast, Washington, District of Columbia.

Is there a Metro station by the DC Armory?

You can take either the Blue or Orange Metro line and exit at the Stadium/Armory station.

Is there parking at the  DC Armory?

Yes there is FREE parking in Lot #3.

What is in my packet?

You will receive your bib and runner packet at the first station. You will then need to go to the t-shirts kiosks to get your t-shirt.

What information do I need to pick up my packet?

You must have a photo ID. You will speed things up by brining your race number email that you will receive in October.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

You may have someone else pick up your packet. The person must have a photocopy of your picture ID. Each person can only pick up to eight (8) packets.

Do you have health & fitness clinics?

Yes, there will be clinics at the Expo. Check back in August for the speakers and times.

Do I pick up youth run bibs and shirts at the Health & Fitness Expo?

Yes, there is an area at the expo for youth run pick up.

Can I purchase a youth run registration at the Health & Fitness Expo?

There are only 400 registrations available for the youth run. If space permits you will be able to buy a registration. Typically, the race sells out.

Do I pick up my pasta dinner tickets at the Expo?

Yes, there is a kiosk for pasta dinner tickets.

Can I purchase tickets at the Expo?

No, pasta dinner tickets are not available at the Expo. You will need to purchase them online.

 

Race Day FAQs

 

What day is the race?

October 21, 2012

What time and where does it start?

The race starts at 8:00am at the Pentagon. The Wounded Warrior & Wheel chair athletes start at 7:50am.

What is a wave start?

Instead of all the runners starting at one time, runners are broken in "waves" based on their pace time.

Can I change which start wave I am in?

Faster runners can move backward to a slower start wave but slower runners cannot forward to a faster start wave.

How am I scored?

The ChronoTrack B-Tag is used for scoring. The device is embedded in your race bib. Your timing chip is attached on the back of your bib and you don't remove it. Just make sure you wear your race bib on the front of your shirt and don't cover it up.

Can I wear headphones or carry a camera or cell phone?

No, all audio and video devices are prohibited from the course.

Is there a place for me to put my belongings at the Pentagon?

The Clement Nedd Garment Check Zone, located in the Pentagon Lower Bus Terminal is available for runners. You must put your items in the clear bag that will be given to you at the garment check. You are not allowed to check any backpacks or other bags. The ATM is not responsible for lost or missing items so we suggest that you don't check valuables.

Can I pick up my packet at the race?

There is no race day packet pick up.

When will results be posted?

Results will be on the ATM website by 7:00pm on Oct 21.

What do I get for finishing the race?

When you cross the Finish Line you will get a Finisher Coin. You will also be able to download your Finisher Certificate and photos from Marathon-Photos.com.

Where do I buy photos and finish line video?

The official race photographer, Marathon-Photos.com will have photos and video available on their site - www.marathon-photos.com.

 

Hotel FAQs

 

What is the race headquarter hotel and where is it located?

The hq hotel is the Crystal Gateway Marriott. The address is 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. The entrance is located at Eads & 15th Streets.

What is the best way to get to the hotel from Reagan National Airport?

The Cystal City Metro station is very close to the hotel. You can walk through the underground shops and avoid walking on the street. There is also a complimentary shuttle from the hotel.

 

Pasta Dinner FAQs

 

Where is the pasta dinner held?

The dinner is in the Arlington Ballroom of the race headquarter hotel, the Crystal Gateway Marriott.

Is the dinner open to military and civilians?

Yes, the dinner to open to everyone.

Do I need to have a ticket to attend the dinner?

Yes, you will need to purchase your ticket at registration. The dinner typically sells out. If you don't purchase your ticket at the time of registration you can still purchase on online as long as they haven't sold out.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $29 for the all-you-can-eat buffet.
