Army Ten-Miler - Volunteer Tent Coordinator

Position Overview
Hundreds of volunteers will arrive in the early morning, prior to the Army Ten-Miler. As the volunteer tent coordinator, you are serving as the point of contact for checking-in and supporting volunteers.

Time/Location Information:

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you need to report to the Volunteer Check-in Tent in the South Pentagon Parking Lot Lane 19 (Fern and No. Rotary) at 5:30 AM to check in your volunteers.


Task Overview

  • Checks in volunteers upon arrival at event
  • Serves as point of contact
  • Monitors if trash needs to be removed (by contractor)
  • Balance resources in any area short of personnel

    Task Detail

    Check in volunteers upon arrival at event
    You will oversee the volunteer registration so all volunteers report to their assigned stations to begin their tasks. You and members of the ATM office will direct volunteers to their appropriate assignments (or reassignments, if required). Distribute t-shirts, pins and bracelets to those on the volunteer list who did not receive them on Friday or Saturday.

    Serve as point of contact

    You will work with the ATM office and ATM contractors to ensure everything is running smoothly. Report your status to ATM Operations Manager every 30 minutes. Use a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) to support coordination. LMR issued at the time of check-in.
